Artfully Unforgotten continues to actively pursue new partnerships, projects and program opportunities and welcomes interested parties to contact us.
If you know of an important story of a marginalized person and/or community that needs exposure, Artfully Unforgotten can explore creative and artistic ways of bringing awareness to many social issues that need attention.
In '09, AU's founder Heather Metcalfe traveled to Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan where she met many Afghan men and women (Ferishta, a business owner Heather met, pictured top left). The book and video shorts "Voices of Afghanistan" were a result of the extraordinary stories and experiences Heather brought back.

"Voices of Afghanistan" the video short has been presented at multiple venues since it's initial launch at The Best Buy Loft event in December of 2009. See latest news to find out about upcoming screenings and events.

GISIMBA: A RWANDAN ORPHANAGE
In November '08, Heather Metcalfe, Founder, visited Gisimba where she gathered video footage and photographs (pictured left) of the children and learned not only of their history, but of the orphanages as well.
During the 90's genocide Gisimba served as a safe haven for Tutsi adults who were hidden in the latrines and in the ceilings. Children from all over were also thrown into the center by friends and family with the hopes that their lives would be saved from the mass slaughtering which took place throughout the country.
Heather's trip resulted in multiple New York based exhibits and partnerships with Parsons the New School and sponsors such as Lawyers without Borders and Stonewall (pictured bottom left and below). Click here to find out how AU's exhibit benefited Gisimba and view photo gallery.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Artfully Unforgotten was commissioned by Franciscans International to co-produce this trafficking awareness video (production still pictured top left) along with FI & Sisters of Notre Dame as part of FI's Hear It First Hand campaign.
In December 2010, FI and other organizations asked religious communities about the trafficking of women and girls in their area.
Responses came from all over the world. Those responses are the basis of this video as well as a panel discussion held on March 8th at The Salvation Army International Justice Commission in New York City (event pictured bottom left).
